RETURN TO TENNIS WITH ALTON TENNIS CLUB
You may have wielded a tennis racquet, but a long time ago, and wondered
whether you would enjoy getting back onto the court.
Or perhaps you watched the tennis at Wimbledon this summer and feel you might
prefer to play tennis rather than be a couch potato!
Or maybe you feel as though you would like to be able to inspire your children
to take up a healthy, rewarding sport like tennis, by taking it up
yourself.
Whatever your motivation, if you are thinking about whether you might like to
have a go at tennis, Alton Tennis Club, in conjunction with East Hatns
District Council, is pleased to be able to offer the "Return to Tennis"
programme.
Startign on Wendesday 12th September, from 9.30 to 11am at Alton Tennis Club,
this weekly eight week programme is an opportunity to learn new skills
and tactics from a qualified coach in a friendly setting.
"It does not matter if you have not played tennis before"
commented Councillor Jennifer Gray, Portfolio Holder for Health and
Healthy Lifestyles, "the programme is about either trying tennis for the
first time or getting back into the game after a long break, maybe since
school. It is also a good way to meet new people who are also looking to
get back into sport and to improve your general fitness". The programme costs £21 for the full eight weeks,
with the first session being free. Racquets will be available for
anyone who does not have their own. For information about the Return to Sport
initiative, check outhttp://www.sporthampshireiow.co.uk/returntosport For more information and to book your place
contact Liz Squires, Community Project Worker (Sport and Play) on
